OUT OF CONTROLLER

I started this blog to get some web presence for the DJ gig, and providing linkage to uploaded content has spread my recordings and other musical goodies out to far more ears than ever before. Between my own mixes, concert reviews and other music posts, I hope the site helps to connect people with a glimpse of the explosion that is the current electronic dance music scene.

The Out of Controller sound has evolved and progressed along with the site, as the historical mixtapes may indicate. I like a lot of different sounds from grating, harsh electro tracks to fluffy disco edits, so nailing down a cohesive yet adaptive range of styles has been an interesting process of endless digital “crate digging” from the blogosphere.

My little niche in the EDM world is a blend of disco/rock/indie/80s/electro. One part fat beats, one part funky basslines, one part whiny indie vocals, equal parts guitar and synthesizer. Not much of a definition, but genre definitions are getting harder and harder these days. Give my mixes a listen and see what you think.
