More good stuff from The Black Ghosts, this time mashed with Lindstrom for a beautifully soft house track. I keep meaning to listen to Lindstrom’s LateNightTales installment…
The Black Ghosts vs. Lindstrom - Something New (Galactic version)
Miami Horror continues to crank out the electrified indie bangers as well. Sweet guitar riffs and hard synth loops–this track rocks.
Dirty Secrets - 5 Feet of Snow (Miami Horror remix)
I’ve heard a few Dragonette remixes, and they were just a little too mellow for me. Quite to the contrary, this Lismore remix bumps as much as their Rails to Russia remix posted a few weeks ago.
Dragonette - Jesus Doesn’t Love Me Anymore (Lismore remix)
Grum is just killing it right now. Enjoy the funky breaks for a moment, and then the chorus hits hard.
Grum - Heartbeats (Edwin Van Cleef remix)
Props to Discodust for finding this synthpop gem. This is the kind of shit I dance alone to. Keenhouse is from right here in LA, too–hopefully I’ll see him in some lineups soon.
Keenhouse - Deep in the Forest
More good news from down under as The Presets prepare to release their new album. I haven’t heard much from K.I.M. since Wet N’ Wild exploded last year, and I didn’t even realize he was half of The Presets. Makes sense that his remix is so on point then!
The Presets - This Boy’s in Love (K.I.M. remix)
Don’t be fooled by the pleasant little guitar loops early in this track, after which it quickly transforms into an electro monster.
Primary 1 - Hold Me Down (FOAMO remix)
I loved this poppy original when G-Unit pointed me to Sam Sparro’s myspace a while back; but as much I have enjoyed listening to it, the high bpm made it difficult to work such a low key track late into a set. Phones to the rescue!
Sam Sparro - Black and Gold (Phones remix)
More banging remix action from Bag Raiders this time. I found myself compelled to air guitar on the synth solos. Awesome.
Super Mal - Bigger than Big (Bag Raiders remix)
Moulinex has quickly become another name that I get my hands on as soon as I see it anywhere. His driving bass lines just don’t quit, especially in the remix of this new Symbol One track.
Symbol One - Love Juice (Moulinex remix)
And for dessert, we have even more Aussie love. This is a groovy little remix from Grafton Primary who did that amazing I Can Cook track a little while back. Via Tania’s vocals kinda sound like Bjork but less eskimo-y.
